Job offer letter samples

The job offer letter is an official document sent to a selected candidate by the employer and it typically includes the details of the offer of employment and includes mainly job description and title, start date, working hours, expiration date of the offer, compensation, and benefits. The job offers, even if they are made through phone or via email, a formal written letter usually follows the same.

There is no specific format for job offer letters and so it depends on your choice to be whether formal or to be informal in your offer depending on the job role. For instance, informal offer letters are a better choice for less senior job roles.

Standard offer letter sample format

Dear [Applicant Name],

[Company Name] is excited to offer you the position of [job title].

We are pleased to offer a [full time, part time, etc.] position for you as a [job title], reporting to [immediate manager/team lead]. Please review carefully this formal offer letter that includes important details of your employment inclusive of compensation, benefits and the terms and conditions of your anticipated employment with [Company Name].
